Founder & Principal​

Caine Chapman*

Chapman Tax Law was founded in 2025 by Caine Chapman, a tax lawyer born and raised in Brantford. Caine has experience advising individuals, families, and businesses on a wide range of tax matters. His practice focuses on tax planning and tax dispute resolution, where he brings a strategic and results-driven approach to solving his clients’ important tax problems.

Caine’s tax planning practice focuses primarily on owner-managers and intergenerational transfers of wealth and businesses. Caine has experience representing clients in audits, objections, and tax appeals. He is known for navigating disputes with efficiency and clarity. Caine also maintains a complementary practice in wills and estate planning, assisting clients with tax-efficient succession strategies, trust planning, and estate administration. His ability to integrate tax knowledge with estate structuring makes him a trusted advisor to individuals and business owners alike.

Prior to founding Chapman Tax Law, Caine articled for the judges of the Tax Court of Canada. Caine subsequently joined a leading national law firm, where he developed a strong foundation in corporate and tax law. He later joined a prominent tax boutique, further honing his expertise in dispute resolution and strategic tax planning.

A holder of an Honours Bachelor of Social Science in Economics (Ottawa), a Masters of Arts in Economics (McMaster), and a law degree (Queen’s), Caine is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attends conferences, workshops, and other legal education events to stay up to date on the ever-changing tax landscape in Canada.

Caine is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates Society.
